WSIB Putting Money Back into the Hands of Safe Businesses
August 29, 2025. This fall, starting in October 2025, the WSIB is returning surplus funds to safe, eligible businesses through automatic premium rebates. These rebates can help reduce costs, improve cash flow, and support investments in health and safety or other key areas. Businesses with an active Schedule 1 account, no major safety convictions from 2020 to 2025, and no recent traumatic fatalities may qualify. Rebates are applied as credits to future premiums, but businesses can request a cheque if their payments are up to date. This initiative rewards safety while continuing to support care and recovery for Ontario workers.
