UPDATE: Safety Management Group Acquires CrossSafety
The partnership expands safety, environmental, and risk management services across North America.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — June 30, 2026 — Safety Management Group (SMG) has acquired CrossSafety, one of Canada’s largest and most established workplace and public health and safety service providers.
The acquisition also includes CrossSafety’s TRH operations in the United States and Mexico. Together, the companies will provide expanded safety, environmental, and risk management support across Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
The acquisition was completed with support from SMG’s investment partner, Gryphon Investors. The management teams of SMG and CrossSafety will hold roughly equal ownership stakes in the combined company.
The new organization brings together more than 500 environmental, health, and safety professionals across North America.
“This is an exciting milestone for SMG and an important step in our long-term growth strategy,” said Randy Gieseking, President and CEO of Safety Management Group. “Our teams have worked together on shared clients and projects over the past two years. We saw that our companies share the same focus on strong client service, talented people, and protecting workers.”
SMG has more than 35 years of experience helping organizations improve safety, manage environmental risks, and protect their workers. Its services include consulting, safety staffing, training, technology, and environmental support.
CrossSafety has served clients for more than 30 years. The company provides workplace safety consulting, project support, training, and environmental, health, and safety services across many industries.
“Joining SMG is an exciting opportunity for our employees and our clients,” said John Murphy, CEO of CrossSafety. “By bringing our experience and services together, we are creating a stronger company with more resources and broader expertise across North America.”
CrossSafety will continue to operate under the CrossSafety brand in Canada. John Murphy and the current Canadian leadership team will continue to lead the business.
Clients will continue working with the people and teams they know. They will also gain access to a larger network of experienced professionals, expanded services, and added support across North America.
“This partnership is about more than expanding our reach,” Gieseking added. “Safety is a people business. By bringing two strong teams together, we are investing in our people, supporting our clients, and helping build the future of safety across North America.”
