Why is this course considered “intensive”?
The SkillsCross Intensive Occupational Hygiene Short Course is designed as an accelerated 3-day program that covers a large amount of technical and practical occupational hygiene content in a short period of time. Participants should expect a fast-paced learning environment with detailed discussions, real-world applications, and active participation.
What knowledge and skills will participants gain by the end of the course?
Participants will learn how to recognize common occupational hygiene issues and identify appropriate courses of action to address them. The course provides practical experience using air sampling and noise monitoring instrumentation, understanding exposure assessments and exposure limits, and applying decision-making processes to evaluate and control workplace hazards.
Participants will also become familiar with Ontario regulatory requirements, ACGIH exposure standards, ventilation evaluation methods, and occupational hygiene resources, equipment, and services.

This course is designed for individuals who are not occupational hygiene specialists, but who have responsibilities related to occupational hygiene issues within their organizations or for monitoring and enforcing occupational hygiene conditions in workplaces.
