
David Yager
Mr. Yager is a founding director of CrossSafety and has enjoyed a diversified career in the oilfield services and upstream oil and gas industry. From 1979 to 1992 he was owner, writer and editor of one of the industry’s premier trade magazines. In 1993 he founded Tesco Corporation which commercialized a foundational technology for modern horizontal drilling. After leaving Tesco he founded another company which, after multiple acquisitions, became Integrated Petroleum Services Ltd. In 2002 it was acquired by a U.S. private equity firm and was later listed on the NYSE. In 2003 he was recruited to restructure and recapitalize an oil industry safety services company, which was rebranded as HSE Integrated Ltd. As CEO and Chair of HSE, he acquired 17 firms, building HSE to over $100 MM in annual revenue before its acquisition by DXP Enterprises in 2011. Mr. Yager also has a long career as an analyst and writer on the Canadian oil and gas industry, and has been active in provincial politics in Alberta. He is currently serving as a Special Advisor to the Premier of Alberta and in 2025 received the Kings Coronation Medal in recognition of his services to Canada.
